The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled Marvel theater items: Fantastic Four cups and Captain America LED helmet containers. It found both contain button cell batteries accessible to children. Golden Link, the importer, offers refunds to purchasers. Golden Link, the importer of both items, is offering refunds to anyone who bought one.

The recall covers about 55,350 units combined. The Fantastic Four cups are the blue Invisible Woman and red Human Torch drinking cups, sold exclusively at AMC theaters nationwide from March through April 2025 for about $15. The Captain America Popcorn Helmet Containers are navy blue and silver, hold 85 ounces, and light up with LEDs. Those were sold more widely, at AMC Theaters, Cobb Theaters, Drive in Group, El Capitan EVO Cinemas, Goldenlink, GQT Movies, Harkins, Independent Theatre, Maya Cinemas, Reading, West Wind, Escape, and Zurich Group, from February through August 2025 for about $30.

Both products violate the federal button cell and coin battery standard because the batteries are too easy for a child to reach, and neither carries the warning labels required under Reese’s Law. If swallowed, button batteries can cause serious internal chemical burns or death. The CPSC says no injuries have been reported so far, but is urging anyone with these items to stop using them immediately.

To get a refund, dispose of the product, take a photo showing proof of disposal, and email it to productrecall@goldenlinkinc.com.

We covered Captain America: Brave New World’s theater popcorn bucket lineup and Fantastic Four: First Steps’ theater-by-theater collectible guide when those buckets and cups first hit theaters. If you picked up an 85 ounce Captain America helmet bucket or a Fantastic Four character cup from that run, check it against the CPSC’s product photos before assuming it’s clear. Not every theater chain that sold Captain America or Fantastic Four merchandise is named in this recall, so the safest move is comparing your item directly rather than going by memory of where you bought it.
