Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party is making its return to Disneyland Resort this August, kicking off at Disney California Adventure on August 13, D23 Day, before extending into a three-day celebration at the Downtown Disney District through August 16.

The California Adventure portion runs as a one day event tailored to families with young children, built around characters and stories from Sofia the First: Royal Magic, SuperKitties, and Spidey and His Amazing Friends. The centerpiece is the Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Block Party, a parade style celebration that travels through Hollywood Land starting at 10:30 a.m. with stops on Hollywood Boulevard and at Carthay Circle. Expect music and decorated vehicles featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and other Disney Jr. characters.
Hollywood Land will also host Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Live at the Hollywood Backlot Stage, where kids can dance with Mickey and friends. Sofia the First is expected to debut new attire during the event, and Spidey along with other characters will make limited time appearances throughout the day. Kids ages three through eleven can sign up for Confection Purrfection with the SuperKitties, a cupcake decorating activity at the Hollywood Backlot Stage. Space is limited and sign ups open 45 minutes before each showtime.
Families can also stop by the Disney Jr. Let’s Play Craft Zone in Hollywood Land, learn to draw Pepper the puppy unicorn from Sofia the First: Royal Magic at Animation Academy, and grab a themed photo strip at the Hollywood Land photobooth for an additional fee. Disney Jr. merchandise will be available at Studio Store and Elias & Co.
Notably, August 13 also marks D23 Day at the Disneyland Resort, a separate one day event previewing fandom activities ahead of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim. Anyone building a full day around both events should plan for a busy Hollywood Land and Downtown Disney.
Once the party shifts to Downtown Disney from August 14 through 16, the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage and Lawn will host DJ dance parties, The Bubbles Experience presented by Disney Jr., and a second Craft Zone near the stage. Additional themed photo locations will be set up throughout Downtown Disney for the full weekend.
