The Haunted Mansion’s Hatbox Ghost is getting his own popcorn bucket, and he’s set to haunt Disneyland Resort starting Aug. 13, which happens to be D23 Day 2026. The new novelty bucket features the character’s glowing green head, detachable hatbox handle detail, and a Disney Parks strap, giving fans a spookier alternative to the resort’s usual lineup of character buckets. We think it will be priced around $30.00
The Hatbox Ghost bucket will be available at Harbour Galley, Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, Popcorn at Frontierland, and Popcorn at New Orleans Square in Disneyland, as well as Popcorn at Grizzly Peak Airfield and Popcorn near Carthay Circle Restaurant in Disney California Adventure. It’s available while supplies last, with a limit of two per person per transaction, and no discounts apply.
Disney is pairing the release with a new sweet treat. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Cake Pop also launches Aug. 13, available at Candy Palace in Disneyland, Trolley Treats in California Adventure, and Disney Wonderful World of Sweets in Downtown Disney, also while supplies last.
Our Take: Hatbox Ghost has been one of the most requested Haunted Mansion characters for merch treatment for years, so seeing him land on a popcorn bucket instead of just pins or apparel feels overdue in the best way. If you’re planning a trip around Aug. 13, get to your preferred pickup spot early. Limited-run Haunted Mansion collectibles like this tend to sell out fast, especially with a strict two-per-person cap already in place.
