Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” is coming home. The film arrives on digital platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango on July 21, with the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release following on August 25. It marks the beloved duo’s first trip to the big screen after multiple award-winning seasons on Disney+, and the home release comes loaded with behind-the-scenes bonus content for fans who want to go deeper into how the film was made.
The story picks up after the fall of the Empire, with Imperial warlords still scattered across the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect what the Rebellion fought for, it enlists the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, and his young apprentice Grogu. The film introduces new characters played by Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White, with Martin Scorsese also lending his voice to the project. Jon Favreau directs from a script he wrote with Dave Filoni and Noah Kloor, the same creative team behind the Disney+ series.
