The story picks up after the fall of the Empire, with Imperial warlords still scattered across the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect what the Rebellion fought for, it enlists the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, and his young apprentice Grogu. The film introduces new characters played by Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White, with Martin Scorsese also lending his voice to the project. Jon Favreau directs from a script he wrote with Dave Filoni and Noah Kloor, the same creative team behind the Disney+ series. Expect an action-packed adventure with new creatures, dogfights, and TIE-fighter battles alongside the character-driven heart that made the show a hit.

Digital availability begins July 21 across major platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango. The physical release follows on August 25 with standard 4K UHD and Blu-ray editions, plus two collectible options for fans who want something extra for the shelf. A SteelBook edition is available, along with a Beskar Collector’s Edition exclusive to the United States that includes special packaging and metal posters.

Both the digital and physical releases come with hours of exclusive bonus content. Crafting “The Mandalorian and Grogu” goes behind the scenes with the artists responsible for the film’s puppetry, miniatures, sound design, and visual effects. Biomes, From Snow to Swamp follows director Jon Favreau and his crew as they build two new worlds that will feel familiar to fans of the original trilogy. Welcome to Shakari covers the construction of the film’s bustling city setting, built from the ground up as a playground for Mando and his young apprentice. Dejarik for Real revisits the Millennium Falcon’s holochess game from the original 1977 film and shows how those small creatures were brought to life at full scale for the sequel’s big screen debut. Rounding out the bonus content is a full audio commentary track from director Jon Favreau, available for anyone who wants to watch the film again with his insight running alongside it. Bonus features may vary by product and retailer and are only available on digital and physical releases.
