Marvel Animation’s “X-Men ’97” Season 2 is now streaming exclusively on Disney+, arriving with a perfect 100% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes as of today and nine new episodes continuing the Emmy-nominated series.
Season 2 picks up with the X-Men divided and scattered across different eras in time, struggling to find their way back to the present. Back in the 1990s, new threats and a rising wave of mutant intolerance are filling the void left by the team’s absence. The returning voice cast includes Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Ray Chase as Cyclops, Lenore Zann as Rogue, and Matthew Waterson as Magneto, with new additions including Gates McFadden as Mother Askani, John de Lancie as Rama-Tut, and Michael Dorn as Baal.
The first season was one of the most-watched Disney+ Original animated series by hours streamed globally and earned Emmy nominations, making Season 2 one of the more anticipated Marvel returns of the year.
Marking the premiere, Dave’s Hot Chicken is launching a limited-time X-Men ’97 collaboration starting today, July 1, running through sell-out. The Dave’s Hot Chicken x X-Men ’97 Meal is $13.99 and includes a Dave’s #4 with either a Slider and Fries or Bites and Fries, plus one blind-bag collectible figurine featuring Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, or Jean Grey. Fans can also unlock limited-edition pins and exclusive comic content through the Dave’s Hot Chicken app while supplies last. The meal is available at participating Dave’s locations nationwide.
Dave’s Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer Arman Oganesyan said the collaboration came from a genuine place, noting that X-Men was a major part of his childhood and that what made X-Men ’97 stand out was how faithfully it honored the original series.
