US Named World’s Top Amusement Park Destination for 2026 With Orlando and Disney Leading the Way

Travel and Tour World has released its Top 50 Amusement Park Travel Destinations in the World for 2026, and the result is not particularly close — the United States ranks first globally, Orlando accounts for six of the top ten parks in the country, and Disney holds seven of those ten spots outright.
The ranking was compiled by TTW’s editorial research team and reflects global travel preferences across theme parks, immersive entertainment, family experiences, and tourism infrastructure. The US leads with more than 400 amusement and theme parks nationwide, but the concentration of elite parks in Central Florida is what makes the numbers so lopsided in Orlando’s favor.

Orlando Owns the Top 10

Of the ten best amusement parks in the United States according to TTW’s 2026 ranking, six are in Orlando. Disney alone claims four of those six — Magic Kingdom at number one, EPCOT at three, Disney’s Hollywood Studios at four, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom at nine. Universal Orlando fills the remaining two Orlando spots, with Islands of Adventure at five and Universal Studios Florida at seven.

California Fills the Gaps

The remaining four spots go to California. Disneyland Park in Anaheim ranks second nationally, with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Indiana Jones Adventure, and the original Space Mountain carrying its legacy. Disney California Adventure ranks sixth. Universal Studios Hollywood lands at eight. The California parks are world-class — but the sheer volume of top-tier experiences concentrated in a single metro area is what Orlando does that no other destination on earth replicates.

The Top 10 Amusement Parks in the United States for 2026

  1. Magic Kingdom — Orlando, Florida. The most visited theme park in the world tops the US list, anchored by Cinderella Castle, TRON Lightcycle/Run, Space Mountain, and nightly fireworks over the hub.
  2. Disneyland Park — Anaheim, California. The original Disney park earns the second spot, with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Indiana Jones Adventure, and a sense of history no other park can replicate.
  3. EPCOT — Orlando, Florida. The World Showcase, international festivals, Spaceship Earth, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind make EPCOT the most culturally distinct park on the list.
  4. Disney’s Hollywood Studios — Orlando, Florida. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Rise of the Resistance, Toy Story Land, and Tower of Terror give Hollywood Studios one of the strongest ride lineups in Walt Disney World.
  5. Universal’s Islands of Adventure — Orlando, Florida. The highest-ranked non-Disney park in the country, driven by VelociCoaster, Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure, and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
  6. Disney California Adventure — Anaheim, California. Avengers Campus, Radiator Springs Racers, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout anchor California’s second Disney park.
  7. Universal Studios Florida — Orlando, Florida. Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, live shows, and movie-inspired experiences keep Universal Studios Florida firmly in Orlando’s top tier.
  8. Universal Studios Hollywood — Los Angeles, California. The only working film studio on the list, with Super Nintendo World, the Studio Tour, Jurassic World, and a full Wizarding World experience.
  9. Disney’s Animal Kingdom — Orlando, Florida. Pandora: The World of Avatar, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and Expedition Everest give Animal Kingdom a scope no other wildlife-themed park approaches.
  10. SeaWorld Orlando — Orlando, Florida. Marine-life encounters paired with major coasters including Mako, Pipeline, and Ice Breaker round out an Orlando top 10 that leaves every other US city off the list entirely.

Where the US Stands Globally

TTW’s global top ten countries are the United States, Canada, Mexico, France, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, China, and Singapore. The US leads every other country on the list, credited specifically with innovation, iconic attractions, and year-round entertainment — language that maps directly onto what Disney and Universal have been building in Orlando for decades.

TTW recommends spring and autumn as the best times to visit US parks for lighter crowds and pleasant weather, while summer brings extended operating hours and seasonal events.
