The filmed version of the original Broadway production of Hamilton is arriving on 4K UHD Blu-ray for the first time on June 16, 2026, and the Collector’s Edition comes loaded with bonus content that makes this the definitive home release of one of the most important musicals ever written.

The headline addition is the never-before-seen documentary Spark into a Flame: Hamilton and Hip-Hop, which digs into the connection between the Broadway phenomenon, the hip-hop roots that inspired Lin-Manuel Miranda’s score, and The Hamilton Mixtape that followed. The documentary features Miranda himself alongside Busta Rhymes, Nas, Questlove, Black Thought, Angie Martinez, Common, Dessa, Residente, and more. That is not a bonus feature. That is its own event.
The full Collector’s Edition includes the filmed Broadway production in 4K with Dolby Vision picture and Dolby Atmos audio, a sing-along version, the Reuniting the Revolution featurette, and the documentary. Physical collectors also get a fabric poster, a set of collectible art cards, and a booklet of Alexander Hamilton lyrics and sheet music for piano.
The film was shot at The Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June 2016 with the original cast, capturing the production in a way that puts you inside the theater rather than watching it from a distance. In 4K with Dolby Vision and Atmos, that experience is going to hit differently.

Our Take: We are not throwing away our shot on this one. Hamilton holds a special place at Fantasy Land News. We have seen it on Broadway, we throw a July 4th picnic every year with Hamilton-themed food and drinks, and if you have ever been in a car with us on the way to a media event, you already know that The Room Where It Happens is mandatory pre-arrival listening. The Spark into a Flame documentary alone would be enough to sell us on this release. The fact that it comes with a fabric poster and sheet music is almost too much. June 16 cannot get here fast enough.
