Fathom Entertainment and GKIDS have officially announced the Studio Ghibli Fest 2026 lineup, bringing seven films to theaters nationwide from June through October 2026, highlighted by the 25th anniversary of Academy Award-winning Spirited Away and the first-ever Ghibli Fest theatrical run of Tales from Earthsea. The announcement was made at CinemaCon 2026 on April 16, with tickets going on sale starting May 15 at FathomEntertainment.com, GhibliFest.com, or at participating theater box offices.

What Is Studio Ghibli Fest 2026
Studio Ghibli Fest is the annual theatrical celebration of the Studio Ghibli catalog, presented by Fathom Entertainment and GKIDS. The 2026 series runs across seven titles, each shown in both original Japanese with subtitles and English dubbed versions. Every screening also includes special surprise extra content. The series kicks off with Ponyo in June and closes with Spirited Away in October. Last year’s Ghibli Fest also featured Spirited Away as its closing film, though 2026 marks the formal 25th anniversary celebration of the film’s release.

Our Take on Studio Ghibli Fest 2026
This is a strong lineup from Fathom Entertainment and GKIDS, and the anniversary framing makes it feel purposeful rather than just a repeat of the catalog. Tales from Earthsea getting its first Ghibli Fest slot after 20 years is genuinely interesting because it is one of the most overlooked films in the Ghibli library. It has a complicated legacy among fans and critics, and seeing it in a theater for the first time as part of this series is a real opportunity. The 4K remaster of Princess Mononoke in September is the other standout here. That film deserves the biggest screen possible, and September is perfect timing for it. Spirited Away, closing out the year in October, feels right for the 25th anniversary. Tickets are on sale May 15. Plan accordingly because the Saturday-dubbed screenings tend to go fast.
