Disney has revealed the completed new marquee for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom ahead of the attraction’s April 8, 2026 reopening, and it is the single best thing to come out of this entire refurbishment. The ride itself has soft opened as of this morning, with queues only hitting 20-30 minutes. We had a chance to ride again and get the new Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin Disney Photopass that actually adds your score to prove how well you did.
We said as much in our honest Cast Member preview review last week. The new entrance sign is a real upgrade. It does what good theming is supposed to do: it makes you feel something before you even walk through the door.

What the New Marquee Actually Does for Tomorrowland
The design is bold, colorful, and unmistakably Buzz. The starfield background, the oversized lettering, and the winged Galactic Command insignia flanking the doors all pull from the Toy Story visual language without feeling like a toy aisle. At night, the marquee lights up in a way that turns the entire entrance plaza into something worth stopping for. The colors pop against the building’s reds and purples in a way that the old signage never came close to achieving.
But the bigger story here is what this sign does for Tomorrowland as a whole. Walk past Space Mountain with its retro-futurist white marquee and sharp lettering, then turn the corner to Buzz Lightyear, and for the first time in years the two attractions feel like they belong to the same land. Tomorrowland has struggled with visual coherence for a long time. The new Buzz marquee closes that gap in a meaningful way. This is what it looks like when Disney actually sweats the details at the entrance level rather than just inside.

Opening April 8th
The full refurbishment of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin includes upgraded show scenes, new handheld blasters with haptic feedback, and a revised target system. As we noted in our preview, the interior changes are a mixed bag. The new marquee is not. It earns every bit of the attention it is getting.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin reopens at Magic Kingdom on April 8, 2026. Keep it locked to Fantasy Land News for everything coming to Tomorrowland and beyond this summer.
