Cinderella Castle's New Blue Is Finally Here as Painting Continues

Cinderella Castle’s New Blue Is Finally Here as Painting Continues

The Cinderella Castle repaint has reached the turrets, and the new blue paint going on them right now is the most striking visual change in the entire makeover — we were at Magic Kingdom on March 22, 2026, and got a close look at where things stand.

The turret cones are being coated in a deep, saturated royal blue with a glossy finish that catches Florida sunlight in a way the old paint never did. Standing on Main Street and looking up, the color reads as vibrant against the fresh grey and off-white stonework. The gold spire tips, the blue diamond-pattern sections on the central face, and now these turrets are all starting to read as a complete package. The castle looks more polished and more theatrical than it has in years.

This is not the same faded tone as previous versions of the castle. The new blue has real depth. It holds up in direct sun and does not wash out. Up close, the conical rooflines on the lower turrets and the larger cones higher up the structure have a consistency now that makes the whole exterior feel resolved. The Imagineers described this palette as reflecting Cinderella Castle’s original heritage design, and in person, that language finally makes complete sense.

The work is not finished. Some detailed areas are still in progress. But at this point, the heavy lifting is done, and the result is visible. We first covered this project when Disney announced the makeover in December 2025, and in our March 10 report, we noted how dramatically the new lighter surface was improving the Happily Ever After nighttime projection show. That is still true. The blues and golds in the show hit harder on this surface than they ever did on the old pink paint.

When to See Happily Ever After

Happily Ever After runs at 9:30 PM nightly through April 18, 2026. Starting April 19, 2026, the show shifts to 10:00 PM as Magic Kingdom moves into extended summer hours. That earlier time through mid-April is worth planning around, especially if you are traveling with kids. The combination of the 9:30 PM show on this new castle surface, while the turret work is still fresh, is not going to last long.

This is the best the castle has looked in at least a decade. Right now is a genuinely good time to be at Magic Kingdom.
