Universal Orlando Resort has revealed the theme for Halloween Horror Nights 35: the “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares,” running on select nights from August 28 through November 1, 2026, with two of the event’s most notorious figures leading the charge for the first time.
Universal Studios Florida is getting a dark makeover this fall. The park will transform into a decrepit, fear-fueled carnival for the event’s 35th anniversary, and the two figures chosen to run the whole twisted show are Jack the Clown and his longtime rival Dr. Oddfellow. This marks the first time these two HHN legends have ever shared the stage as co-ringmasters

What Is the “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares”?
Universal describes this year’s setup as a sinister carnival experience that takes over Universal Studios Florida for the full run of the event. The theme draws directly from Halloween Horror Nights history, blending legacy characters and lore with new haunted houses, scare zones, and live entertainment. The carnival framing gives the whole event a unified visual and narrative identity built around chaos, performance, and dread.
Jack the Clown is widely regarded as the defining face of Halloween Horror Nights, having anchored multiple editions of the event over the years. Dr. Oddfellow has appeared in a rival capacity, making their pairing in 2026 a genuine first for the event’s history. Universal framed it with a pointed line: a fear divided is a fear diluted.
A Haunted House Built Around Their Rivalry
Universal has already confirmed one of the original haunted houses for HHN 35. “Jack and Oddfellow: Chaos and Control” will take guests through the origins of the two icons’ long-running conflict, following their feud as it escalates before the pair ultimately realize that joining forces gives them more power than fighting each other ever could. It is the first time this rivalry has been dramatized in a walk-through haunted house format.
More haunted houses, scare zones, and entertainment announcements are expected in the months ahead. Last year’s lineup included properties like Terrifier and Fallout alongside original concepts, setting a high bar for the 35th anniversary to clear.

Merchandise Is Already On Sale
Universal is not waiting until August to start selling HHN 35 gear. A first wave of Halloween Horror Nights 2026 merchandise featuring Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow went on sale today. Apparel and additional items are available now at select retail locations inside Universal Studios Florida and online at shopUniversal.com.
Merchandise has become a major part of the HHN experience in recent years. HHN 2025 merch drops generated real buzz well before opening night, and the decision to launch 2026 product this early suggests Universal is leaning into the anniversary energy from the start.
When Do Tickets Go On Sale?
Universal has confirmed that the first ticket products for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando will go on sale very soon. No specific date has been announced yet. The event runs on select nights from August 28 through November 1, and Universal says additional details about the full slate of experiences will be shared in the coming months.
For anyone tracking Universal’s broader 2026 schedule, this announcement fits into what has already shaped up to be a big year for the resort. Universal’s full 2026 event calendar was previewed earlier this year, with HHN representing the marquee fall offering. Official information on the event is available at UniversalOrlando.com/HHN.
