The Garden View Lounge Tea Experience at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa officially opens to guests on March 19, 2026, bringing back a long-awaited afternoon tea tradition with a newly reimagined space inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Alice in Wonderland. Disney shared a first look at the space this week ahead of the opening, revealing the full scope of the renovated lounge and its Alice-themed menu.
The Garden View Lounge is a dedicated afternoon tea experience located inside Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The reimagined offering pairs Victorian-era elegance with whimsical Disney touches drawn directly from Alice in Wonderland. The space replaces the lounge that was previously known as the Garden View Tea Room, which closed as part of the Grand Floridian’s broader lobby renovation.
As we first reported back in January, Alice’s Tea Party was confirmed for the Grand Floridian with a March 19 opening date, along with full pricing and menu details. The new first-look images from Disney confirm how the space has come together visually ahead of that debut.
Inside the Newly Reimagined Space. The lounge is designed to feel like a sunlit conservatory, anchored by floor-to-ceiling windows that let natural light pour through the room throughout the day. The furniture balances modern comfort with classic Victorian styling, keeping the Grand Floridian’s signature aesthetic intact while freshening the look for the refurbished resort.
Details throughout the space nod to garden life and the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland. Floral patterns, plush fabrics, and a palette of greens, blues, and gold run through the room. Brass-framed mirrors shaped like flower petals reflect the garden atmosphere, while stained-glass windows featuring native Floridian birds bring warmth and color to the walls. The carpet, inspired by winding garden vines, is one of the more striking design elements in the room and contains details worth looking for on a visit.
Menu and Tea Selections
The afternoon tea menu is served in partnership with Twinings and includes a curated lineup of teas alongside a full food service. Adults can choose between a traditional tea service or a plant-based alternative. A separate children’s afternoon tea is available for younger guests, themed to the Alice in Wonderland world with smaller, simplified bites.
The food experience begins with a scone course followed by a three-tier tower offering both savory and sweet options. On the savory side, guests can expect items like a curried chicken salad tart, salmon rillette on a miso crisp, egg salad on beet bread, and a cucumber and cream cheese roll. Desserts include a matcha and apricot sponge cake, a vanilla and coffee tart, a passion fruit cream puff, and an Earl Grey teacake that cast members paint with color tableside.
Tea cocktails, including a gin-based Mar-TEA-ni and a whiskey Mint Tulip, are available for adults. Champagne and glittery non-alcoholic mocktails round out the drink offerings. Optional add-ons include a cheese plate and a caviar enhancement for guests looking to extend the experience.
Pricing is set at $79 per adult and $49 per child (ages 3 to 9), plus tax and gratuity. Full payment is collected at the time of booking, and the experience does not allow modifications once a reservation is confirmed.
What Sets This Experience Apart
The Garden View Lounge sits in a unique position at Walt Disney World as one of the only formal afternoon tea experiences on property. The combination of a newly refurbished space, a fully Alice-themed menu, and the inclusion of both a children’s option and a plant-based adult service makes it one of the more broadly accessible upscale dining offerings at the resort. The tableside tea-painting element on the Earl Grey teacake is a particularly distinctive moment that adds a layer of live performance to what is already a theatrical dining experience.
Disney has also confirmed a dress code for the lounge. Guests are expected to arrive in attire appropriate for a fine dining setting. Swimwear is not permitted, and clothing should be clean, neat, and in good condition.
Reservations are strongly recommended and can be booked through the Walt Disney World dining reservation system. A 24-hour cancellation policy applies, and the full charge will be assessed for no-shows or same-day cancellations.
