Hallmark Star, Jonathan Bennett, Announced As Host of the 37th Annual GLAAD Awards. Announced earlier today on Instagram, Jonathan Bennett will take up the hosting duties for the GLAAD Awards on March 5, 2026. The 37th Annual GLAAD Media Awards (for work in 2025) will be held in Los Angeles on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
This brings more spotlight to Hallmark Channel, as they are nominated for 3 GLAAD Awards this year, which we wrote about when the nominees were announced. They received nominations for two in Outstanding Film – Streaming or TV, and one for Outstanding Reality Competition Program. The two nominations are for ‘The Christmas Baby’ starring Kat Barrell and Ali Liebert, and ‘A Keller Family Christmas’ starring Jonathan Bennett, Eden Sher, and Brandon Routh. The nomination for Outstanding Reality Competition Program is for Jonathan Bennett’s ‘Finding Mr. Christmas’.
Jonathan is no stranger to the GLAAD Awards. He won an award for Outstanding Film – Streaming or TV for his work on Hallmark’s ‘The Groomsmen: Second Chances’ with costars B.J. Britt and Tyler Hynes. His work on Hallmark Channel has broken barriers that were once not seen on tv. He has starred in many Hallmark Channel movies over his career. He has been playing his authentic self since 2020 in ‘The Christmas House’, where his character was out and married. His role in ‘The Groomsmen: Second Chances’ saw the channel’s first ground-breaking same-sex wedding.
In 2024, Jonathan hosted season one of ‘Finding Mr. Christmas.’ The show is a competition to find the next Hallmark Channel Leading Man. He cohosts with the very funny and talented Melissa Peterman and each week sees Hallmark Channel stars come in and work with the contestants. Jonathan wears his heart on his sleeve in this show and mentors the contestants. He often gets personal and shares a piece of his heart. He has made cameos in both movies that the winners were in after Finding Mr. Christmas.
