If you want to catch a ride in the fastest limo in Hollywood, you have only a few days left to do it. This is officially the last week to ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The iconic indoor coaster is preparing for a major transformation that will permanently silence the Aerosmith soundtrack.
The partnership between Disney and Aerosmith has lasted over 25 years. Since July 1999, guests have been launching from 0 to 57 mph to the beat of “Walk This Way” and “Sweet Emotion.” However, the studio doors at G-Force Records are about to close for good.
While the high-speed track and inversions are staying, the theme is being retired. Fans are already flocking to the park for one last look at the massive red Stratocaster outside the entrance. Wait times have climbed significantly this week as travelers try to grab their final “backstage passes.”
What We Know About the Muppets Transformation
Disney recently confirmed that the Muppets will be taking over the Sunset Boulevard attraction. The reimagined ride will be called Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. Instead of Steven Tyler inviting you to a concert, the new story features the Electric Mayhem band.
Expect to see Scooter trying to keep the production on schedule while Penguin audio engineers run the control room. The physical ride experience will remain a high-speed coaster, but the neon Los Angeles streets will be replaced by Muppet-themed Hollywood landmarks. The famous guitar outside will also get a “psychedelic” makeover to match the new vibe.
The closing date is fast approaching. You need to keep these specific dates in mind if you are planning a final visit:
- Final Day of Operation: March 1, 2026.
- Official Closure Date: March 2, 2026.
- Expected Reopening: Summer 2026.
March 1st will be the last chance to hear the original Aerosmith audio and see the current pre-show area before construction crews take over the building.
Because this is the final week, the park is very busy. If you want to ride before the change, try to use the Single Rider line to save time. It moves faster than the standby queue, though you will be separated from your group.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass is another way to secure a spot, but these reservations are disappearing quickly each morning. Arriving at Hollywood Studios for “rope drop” is your best bet to beat the heavy afternoon crowds.
The Muppets are moving in soon, but for this week only, the rock and roll lifestyle still rules Sunset Boulevard. Make sure to stop by and say goodbye to this piece of Hollywood Studios history before it changes forever.
