As the world approaches the 20th anniversary of its premiere on March 24, 2006, Hannah Montana is taking center stage once again. Disney+ is joining the festivities early, launching a dedicated “Hannah Montana” Streams channel on February 19, 2026, giving fans a “lean-back” viewing experience of the entire series and films. From the iconic blonde wig to the unforgettable “Best of Both Worlds,” the “Hannah-versary” is shaping up to be a major cultural moment for the generation that grew up with Miley Stewart.
According to Variety, the “Flowers” singer is revisiting her Disney Channel roots, donning the signature blonde look of the fictional popstar ahead of the sitcom’s 20th anniversary in March. At the Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival on Jan. 3, Cyrus confirmed she is involved with plans for the milestone date. “Absolutely. We’re working hard on them,” she told Variety. While she said she couldn’t say more about what’s in store for fans, Cyrus pointed to her blonde hairstyle, adding, “You see the bangs.”
Today, it was announced that the “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” is coming to Disney+ on March 24. The special will celebrate the iconic series that defined a generation — exactly two decades after its Disney Channel debut.
The special will be filmed in front of a live studio audience and will feature an exclusive, in-depth interview with Miley Cyrus, hosted by Alex Cooper. The conversation will offer an intimate look at the creation of one of pop culture’s most iconic characters and the lasting impact the show and character have had on fans around the world. With heartfelt nostalgia and fresh perspective, Cyrus will revisit the moments, music and memories that defined an era. Viewers will be treated to never-before-seen archival footage, while some of the most memorable sets from “Hannah Montana” are brought back to life — including the Stewart family living room and the legendary Hannah Montana closet. There will also be some familiar *notes* that find their way back into the spotlight…

The special is produced by HopeTown Entertainment and Unwell Productions. Ashley Edens serves as showrunner, with Miley Cyrus, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, Alex Cooper, and Matt Kaplan as executive producers. Cooper will also host the special, guiding “Hannah Montana” fans through the nostalgic and highly anticipated anniversary celebration.
