Is Dom and the Family Coaster Coming to Universal Orlando in December? Universal Orlando Hints at Major Announcement 1/20/2026 in a social media post today. The post features a speedometer with the miles counter counting up to 12026 and the sound of a revving engine. Could the new coaster be opening on December 2, 2026? Are we getting the Official Announcement on Tuesday, the 20th of January? See the IG post from Universal Orlando below.
Fans immediately went to social media to speculate that we are getting the “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” roller coaster here at Universal Studios Orlando. While some fans also pointed out it could very well be a BTTF (Back to the Future) coaster, pointing to the fact that it appears the speedometer could be hitting 88mph.
We fully believe that the Intamin Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster that is under testing at Universal Hollywood is coming to the East Coast. Intamin officially showcased the new “drifting” ride vehicle at their booth in Orlando this November. While the Hollywood version is already testing, showcasing it in Orlando, Universal’s home turf, is a classic move to build hype for a local announcement.
Construction at the former Rockit site is moving at lightning speed, with footers and launch tracks already being spotted by aerial photographers. Plus, permits for Intamin have been reported on.
“Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” will feature 360-degree rotation of the individual ride vehicles as guests travel along 4,100 feet of elaborate track—the equivalent of nearly 12 football fields—constructed with sound reduction technology.
This innovative roller coaster, conceived to immerse guests within Universal Pictures’ exhilarating Fast & Furious universe, features groundbreaking technology designed to create a seamless sensation of drifting cars as guests spin in motion at fast speeds while speeding along an aerial track that winds its way over sections of the theme park.
