‘Brrr …It’s Freezing!’ Cold Opening to Epcot’s Festival of the Arts 2026. Friday, January 16th, is the opening day of Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts 2026, and it could end up being one of the coldest opening days ever for an Epcot Festival. Local weather Friday morning is expected to feel like the upper 20s / low 30s, with high for the day not even reaching 60!

According to News 6 weather, Friday morning could be the coldest night of the season. These cold temperatures could feel even colder, as gusty northwest winds are expected to drop wind chills into the upper 20s and lower 30s. Conditions like this could trigger widespread Cold Weather Advisories early Friday.

For us locals, that means dress accordingly! Disney has closed Typhoon Lagoon water park in advance. Disney also gives this heads up to those visiting the Arts Fest: “Florida winters are cool to warm. Consider bringing a light jacket as well as weather-appropriate shoes!” Scuse me, did you say cool to warm? It’s gonna be freezing! Maybe consider dressing as we live on the Tundra!

For those of us who have acclimated to the Central Florida weather and live locally, it will feel like the big glowy orb in the sky has given up! So we recommend dressing in layers, bringing your hats and gloves. If you moved here from the North, we hope you didn’t throw out those old winter clothes!

The Epcot International Festival of the Arts 2026 dates are confirmed for January 16 through February 23, 2026. This 39-day run is one of the shortest festival windows of the year.
