Godzillas Back Godzilla Minus Zero Hits North American Theaters This November

Godzilla’s Back: ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’ Hits North American Theaters This November. The next Godzilla movie finally has a release date. TOHO and GKIDS just confirmed that Godzilla Minus Zero is coming to North American theaters on November 6, 2026.

This is a big deal for fans because it’s arriving in the U.S. and Canada only three days after it premieres in Japan on November 3. Usually, fans in the West have to wait months for a Japanese Godzilla film to get localized. This is the first time a Japan-produced entry in the series has had a rollout this fast.

The Japanese release date isn’t a coincidence. November 3 is “Godzilla Day,” the anniversary of the original 1954 movie. It’s also the same day Godzilla Minus One premiered back in 2023. That movie was a massive hit, making over $116 million and winning an Oscar for its visual effects.

We have known for a little while that TOHO would be celebrating Godzilla all year long from the tie-in they are doing with the Alamo Draft House movie chain. Alamo Draft House is selling a Godzilla popcorn bucket and collection now, with a future release of MechaGodzilla!

Takashi Yamazaki is returning to lead the project. He’s doing it all again, directing, writing the script, and overseeing the visual effects.

Here is what we know about the production so far… Director/VFX: Takashi Yamazaki, Studio: Toho Studios with SHIROGUMI Inc. There is no plot being released right now as TOHO is trying to keep it a secret. The movie is currently being filmed at Toho Studios. While we have the North American and Japanese dates locked in, other international dates haven’t been announced yet.

This release is clearly the main event for Godzilla Day 2026. A new poster was also released today to celebrate the news, showing off the new title and dates.
