The Muppet Show arches were not seen in Season 1, but made their debut in Season 2. It was part of the opening song of the TV show “This is what we call The Muppet Show!” Since then, the arches have been used in The Muppets, Dancing with the Stars, Muppet Babies, Muppets Most Wanted, and various TV shows and specials. Each is structurally distinguished by its stone columns separating each “window” and is surrounded above by flashing lights. Normally, one Muppet at a time is shown in an arch, except at the end, where Kermit would go over to the Newsmen’s arch.
This brings us to what muppets are seen in the new The Muppet Show arches for the special airing Feb 4th, 2026? We have the full list with images. The images we used are from The Muppet 70th Anniversary magnet collection, that just finished being released. There are just a limited few who did not have a muppet magnet, so thanks to Sam @samsdisneydiary, our wed night co-host for putting together the image.

The Muppet Show Returns: Can You Name All 42 Characters in the New Opening?
The return comes just ahead of the franchise’s 50th anniversary in 2026. Created by Jim Henson in 1976, The Muppet Show became what Time magazine once called “the most popular television entertainment now being produced on Earth,” earning Emmy, GRAMMY, and Peabody awards during its original five-season run.
The special event debuts February 4 on both the ABC broadcast network and the Disney+ streaming platform. For those looking to catch up before the premiere, all five original seasons of The Muppet Show are currently available to stream on Disney+.
