Your Last Time to Save Aladar The Iguanodon at Walt Disney World is Now. On February 1st, guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme park at Walt Disney World will have one last chance to ride DINOSAUR! The next day, Dinoland USA will officially become extinct. On February 2nd, 2026, DINOSAUR! and Restaurantasaurus, the last two remaining attractions in Dinoland USA, will close forever to make way for the announced new themed land, Tropical Americas.

From Disney, “The last day to experience DINOSAUR is February 1. The attraction will close permanently on February 2 to make way for Tropical Americas.”

DINOSAUR has seen millions of guests travel back in time on a perilous prehistoric race to rescue an Iguanodon named Aladar before a meteor strikes. The attraction was originally called Countdown to Extinction when the park opened on April 22, 1998, and changed the name to DINOSAUR after the Disney Animation Movie Dinosaur hit theaters in 2000.

What is replacing the ride? An all-new adventure centered on Indiana Jones will be different from any other Indy experience around the world. Guests will venture inside a Mayan temple where Indy has discovered a new place to explore. Amid rumors of a mythical creature living deep within the temple, this thrilling new story will take guests along for the ride with the famed archaeologist. As long as there are no snakes…

Will you be riding DINOSAUR! one last time? Will you be joining us on February 1st, 2026, to ride it one last time?

In the Disney Animation movie Dinosaur, when a meteor shower destroys their home, Aladar and his family follow a herd of dinosaurs heading for the safety of the “nesting grounds.” Along the way, Aladar befriends other colorful dinosaurs. Together, they must stand strong amidst food and water shortages, the threat of carnotaur attacks, and Aladar’s run-ins with the herd’s stubborn leader, Kron.

On the Disney DINOSAUR! attraction ride A paleontologist recruits you for a secret mission to bring a 3.5-ton Iguanodon back to the present. There’s just one problem—the giant meteor that wiped out life on Earth is on the way!

Board a rugged Time Rover vehicle and set off on a thrilling adventure through a primeval forest filled with life-like dinosaurs. Careen through unpredictable hairpin turns. Dart around a fearsome Velociraptor hunting for prey. Avoid the clutches of a Cearadactylus soaring overhead! As the clock counts down, fiery meteors crash down around you. Will you make your escape before the dinosaurs—and you—become extinct?
