Avatar: Fire & Ash Crosses $760 Million While Zootopia 2 Will Be the Biggest Disney Animation Studios Movie Ever. James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire & Ash brought in another $64 million domestically Friday through Sunday, and roughly $181.2 million internationally, bringing its worldwide total to $760.4 million and finishing at the top spot. While Zootopia 2 finished second with another $20 million, crossing $1.4 billion worldwide.
This was the last week of the 2025 box office, and brought The Walt Disney Studios over $6 billion. Both of the Disney-backed movies are doing exceptionally well in the international market. China’s box office is leading the international box office for both Avatar: Fire & Ash and Zootopia 2. Zootopia 2 actually is the only billion-dollar international movie of 2025.
Avatar’s $760 million isn’t a surprise; it follows two other Avatar movies that slow-walked the box office for weeks. Steadily bringing in millions each week until reaching the top of the all-time box office. Expect the same for the rest of the Avatar: Fire & Ash run heading into 2026.
The bigger news for Disney Studios is how Zootopia 2 continues bringing in money for the House of Mouse! A billion-dollar box office was almost assured for the sequel, but it should end 2025 as the biggest box office in Walt Disney Animation history. Frozen II holds the top spot now with $1,451,653,316, Zootopia 2 is sitting at $1,420,881,406. Looking at our crystal ball, Zootopia 2 could end its run beating out Pixar’s Inside Out 2, which would make it the biggest animated movie in Disney’s history, and second all time behind Ne Zha 2 ($2,150,000,000).
