EPCOT Just Got a New Welcome Message and It Starts With Walt Disney. EPCOT has a brand-new welcome message playing when the park opens. It started today, a little before 9:00 AM. It’s a simple change, but it really means a lot to people who love Disney history.
Disney Cast Members were on the scene this morning for the start of EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays 2025 and told us that the new welcome message will play every day at park opening. The ending of the message will change depending on what festival is happening at the park, but the beginning part with the voice of Walt Disney will always remain the opening.
You hear Walt Disney’s classic line about his big vision for the park. He talks about how Disney World would have the “experimental prototype city of tomorrow.” And then he says the words: “We call it: EPCOT.“
So, the new version playing today is all about the holidays.
The announcer tells you that Walt believed imagination could lead people to do the impossible. She calls the park “a celebration of our world and its promise.” She also asks you to be inspired by the “magic of possibility.”
And then she finishes it up. She thanks guests and tells everyone to “enjoy the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.”
This is neat because you get a piece of history right at the start of your day. But you also get a fresh welcome that matches exactly what is happening in the park. They are going to use this new, rotating format every day from now on.
“Walt Disney (Archival Audio): “…part of everything we’ll be doing… Disney World will be our experimental prototype city of tomorrow. We call it: EPCOT.”
Park Announcer (Female Voice): “Walt Disney believed that imagination would lead humanity to achieve the impossible. EPCOT was built on that dream. A celebration of our world and its promise.
Today, we invite you to share in that celebration, and hope that you too will be inspired by the magic of possibility.
For your safety, please walk to your destination. Thank you, and enjoy the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.”
