Update: Police Responding to Apparent Suicide at The Contemporary Resort Disney World. The Contemporary Resort, located at 4600 N. World Drive in Bay Lake, Florida, is under a heavy police presence right now. Reports started circulating earlier this evening, around 7:00 PM, that there may have been an accident with a person. Police were seen setting up a tent on the fourth-floor balcony where guests can watch the evening fireworks from the balcony.

Updated 10:50 PM EST – This article has been updated with new information from News 6 (ClickOrlando): “The sheriff’s office later told News 6 that the incident is an apparent suicide.” The original call came in at 6:40 PM EST this evening.

This is a Breaking News situation, and reports are still coming in. The story is unfolding as we write this. Information from Guests is coming in with varying reports of a person falling or jumping on or near the Monorail tracks. We DO NOT have a police report released yet, and cannot say what really happened.

The only police report we can verify for the area’s address is a call and dispatch from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office:

10/14/2025 6:40:22 PM DEAD PERSON [UNK] N WORLD DRIVE

The Resort Line of the Monorail is not running at this time.

X (Formerly Twitter) @empirestrikes16 has video from the balcony of the Bay Lake Tower DVC resort showing police setting up a response tent, and police vehicles in the area. See the Video Below, it is NOT graphic.
