Rapunzel’s Tower Coming to Storybook Land Canal Boats in Disneyland. The Storybook Land Canal Boats attraction at Disneyland park will receive a new addition this winter. A miniature of Rapunzel’s Tower from the film Tangled is coming to the classic ride. This new model will debut during the Disneyland Resort’s 70th Celebration.
The tower will stand among other miniature scenes from fairytales. Guests will find it positioned between the Patchwork Quilt and Toad Hall when the attraction reopens.
New Rapunzel’s Tower Storybook Land Canal Boats Details
Concept art shows the tower’s design, which features a shingled turret and high windows. Green plants will surround the stone base of the miniature.
The scene includes further detail. Wanted posters for Flynn Rider will appear on a nearby wall. Each miniature poster features a different depiction of Flynn’s nose, referencing a running joke from the film.
Further down the canal, a secluded dock with a boat inspired by the movie will sit at the water’s edge. Twinkling lights will climb a trellis on the bridge above the dock, where the Casey Jr. Circus Train passes.
Music on the Water
As the boats float by during the day, a musical arrangement of “When Will My Life Begin?” will play from the tower. After sunset, the music will shift to “I See the Light.” The scene’s lights will illuminate, recreating the moment from the film when Rapunzel and Flynn watch the lanterns from their boat.
This addition marks a noteworthy update for the beloved attraction. The ride will welcome Rapunzel’s Tower when it reopens this winter.
