Hamikuma Popcorn Bucket at Universal Orlando during HHN 2025

Hamikuma Popcorn Bucket features the bear with its guts, candy, spilling out. He wears an adorable collar of plaid and a blue, shredded tie. His arms are stitched back together. The Hamikuma popcorn bucket costs $39.99, and no discounts can be applied. The first fill of popcorn is free; refills are $2.29. He can be purchased at the Universal Halloween Horror Nights Tribute store and the Five and Dime in Universal Studios.

Hamikuma Popcorn Bucket has two sayings spoken in Japanese:

  • “Even if I die, I will live!” “死んでも生きるのDEATH” (Shindemo ikiru no DEATH)
  • “Together we will dance!” “緒に踊るのDEATH” (Issho ni odoru no DEATH)

Capable of inspiring both fear and joy in the hearts of his fans, HamiKuma is a creepy/cute bear who met a tragic fate. Though doomed to roam the earth with his guts spilling out of his fur, HamiKuma is here to do what he loves best: entertain. Sometimes you feel bad for the evil bear! It wasn’t his fault, he was so good at the Circus that the other performers got jealous and killed him!

Who is Hamukami? A cute and terrifying zombie teddy bear with various objects protruding from its stomach.  In Japanese, “Hami” means “sticking out” or “protruding,” and “Kuma” means bear. Created by and for Universal Japan for Halloween Horror Nights’ Gothic Killer Cuties scare zone in 2021, he then starred in Hamikuma Psycho Circus the following year. There have been rumors for years about the bear showing up at Universal Parks outside Japan, specifically the US parks.

Universal Social media posted: “This unique item is described as featuring ‘adorably creepy phrases’ and promises to be a must-have collectible for any Halloween Horror Nights enthusiast.”

Hamikuma was supposed to be a character meet-and-greet at Universal Orlando and Universal Hollywood. Still, for reasons unknown at the last minute, Universal Press release changed the wording to the bear would only be appearing at Universal Studios Hollywood. Wouldn’t you know it, Hamikuma is not only at Universal Hollywood, but he also showed up at the new HHN experience in Las Vegas.
