Disney Adding Mobility Ramps to Hollywood Studios as Walls Go Up at Animation Courtyard. With the closure of Star Wars Launch Bay and the Animation Courtyard today, Disney has placed Walls all around Hollywood Boulevard. From the Hollywood Studios archway sign, almost to One Man’s Dream, including the area that separates The Little Mermaid and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, there are construction walls in place.

Disney is now building an extra mobility/wheelchair ramp at the stairs leading from Hollywood Boulevard going up and down to Pixar Place/ Toy Story Land in front of the Walt Disney Presents theater. While there is one in place that is permanent, this one appears to be temporary and is going to last during construction.

This is being done because soon, the whole Hollywood Studios Sign Archway will be closed off to guests, and the smooth transition with no stairs will be closed off to guests.

The area is now closed off while Disney rethemed the area to “The Magic of Disney Animation.” From Disney: “Our story in this newly reimagined space begins as the animators have temporarily stepped away… but the building is still buzzing with activity as the characters have come to life and they’re ready to play! Inside, you will interact with and explore silly takes on the iconic Disney Animation headquarters, including the many different studio departments. Only this time, some of our favorite pals have taken over to create the fun adventures.”
