New Disney Animal Kingdom Icon Arrives at Tropical Americas Construction. Towering high above the skyline at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a brand new construction crane. This could be around for the next year or so as Tropical Americas goes vertical. The crane can be seen from the parking lot, almost throughout the whole park, and definitely around the former Dinoland USA.
We are kidding about it being a park icon, obviously. But, this does signify a step forward on the construction of Tropical Americas, and most of us will take seeing a giant crane in our skyline, especially knowing what is coming.
Furthermore, the Boneyard Dino Dig Site is just gone from existence, including the Oldengate Bridge that guests would walk under. That bridge supported a large Brachiosaurus dinosaur skeleton that signified the entrance to Donald’s Dino Bash.

New signs of what is coming to Tropical Americas are now placed on the green walls all around the area. Including new Mesoamerica bats. In Maya history and iconography, it is common to find bats and humans or other beings with bat-like characteristics. Bats appear to play different roles, for example, as messengers.
The new Indiana Jones retheme, Encanto’s Casa Madrigal, and the new overhead map of Tropical Americas.
I feel the only thing left to do is name the new Icon! But we are struggling. Craney McCrane Face doesn’t cut it. I feel it should have a dinosaur’s name in memory of Dinoland USA. Do you have any suggestions? Let us know in the comments!
