Your Last Chance? Marcus Theatres Set to Release Viral ‘Harry Potter’ Hogwarts Collectible on September 7th
The wizarding world is about to get a little more magical for moviegoers in the Midwest, as Marcus Theatres and Movie Tavern prepare to release the viral Harry Potter Hogwarts House popcorn buckets and tumblers. The collectible Hogwarts popcorn tin and cup, which has already sold out at other major chains like Regal Cinemas and Harkin Theatres, is set to be released at Marcus locations on September 7th.
Marcus Theaters Social Media posted recently: “✨ Which House are you repping? 🦁🐍🦡🦅 Collectible Harry Potter merch arrives September 7, in theatres only! (While supplies last)”
The release coincides with the “Back to Hogwarts” movie marathon (see details below), which is running at Marcus Theatres from September 7th to October 27th. The collectible sets, originally priced at an affordable $30.00, have created a massive stir online and on resale markets. The scarcity and high demand for the items have driven prices to astonishing levels, with full sets of the four Hogwarts houses reportedly reselling for as much as $575, and individual house sets fetching up to $175.

The Harry Potter Hogwarts Popcorn Bucket and Tumbler sets have each Hogwarts House represented: Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Gryffindor. Each house has a Tumbler with the house logo, and a Harry Potter Hogwarts House Popcorn Bucket in the shape of a book. Fans and collectors alike have been clamoring to get their hands on the items, turning what was a simple movie promotion into a high-stakes treasure hunt. With Marcus Theatres being one of the last chains to release the merchandise, the September 7th date is expected to draw large crowds of dedicated fans hoping to secure their own piece of cinematic history at the original price.
Movie marathon tickets are now on sale.
