NHL’s Lord Stanley Cup Takes a Trip Around the World at Walt Disney World
For Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues, celebrating the team’s back-to-back Stanley Cup championships wasn’t about wishing on a star, it was about sharing the biggest trophy in hockey with his family at the most magical place on Earth.
Rodrigues, who played a key role in the Panthers’ second consecutive title run, took his day with the Cup to Disney World on Sunday. Joined by his wife, Christina, and their three children, Grayson, Noah, and Ella Grace, the Stanley Cup became a park guest, riding the Monorail to EPCOT.
The family’s journey with the Cup included a world tour of its own, as they visited all 11 country pavilions in the theme park. A highlight came in the France Pavilion, where Rodrigues honored the Panthers’ quirky “rat trick” tradition. He playfully filled the Stanley Cup with several Remy the rat plushes, a nod to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.

Later in the day, Rodrigues swapped his hockey sweater for a Mickey Mouse hockey jersey and was seen posing with characters, including a hockey-outfitted Goofy. The Panthers, who clinched their second title by defeating the Edmonton Oilers in a rematch of the previous year’s final, have been celebrating their win since the Stanley Cup Final concluded on June 17, 2025.
The team’s victory tour of the Cup has taken players all over the world, but for Rodrigues and his family, the trip to Orlando was a unique blend of championship pride and family fun. For a franchise that has captured the hearts of its fanbase with two straight championships, seeing the Stanley Cup at Disney World only added to the Panthers’ reputation as one of the most exciting teams in sports.

Just to add, as a hardcore Philly Flyers Fan, this hurt to write! Bring the Cup back to Philly! We haven’t won since 1975.
