
Disney Unveils “TRON: Ares” at SDCC 2025. “TRON: Ares” follows a sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings. Disney rolled out the red carpet at San Diego Comic-Con today for “TRON: Ares,” the highly anticipated third installment in the groundbreaking “TRON” franchise, set to hit theaters on October 10, 2025.
The panel, hosted by Smith, featured a star-studded lineup including Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson, and “Comic-Con legend” Jeff Bridges. They were joined by director Joachim Rønning and producer/creator Steven Lisberger, who offered insights into what fans can expect from the film.

Director Joachim Rønning emphasized the film’s thematic core: “Ares’s journey is all about what it means and takes to be human. And trying to answer those questions is why I wanted to tell this story. “As Alive as You Need Me to Be” is the first single from the soundtrack, performed by GRAMMY-winning band Nine Inch Nails.
