DeLorean Popcorn Bucket for Back to the Future 40th Anniversary: Real or Not? Fan speculation started yesterday when an image of a Delorean Popcorn Bucket started making the rounds, and then a few moments later, an image of a box labeled AMC Theaters Back to the Future 40oz Delorean Popcorn Bucket was posted to Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit. Is the AMC Theaters Back to the Future 40th Anniversary Delorean popcorn bucket real or not?
The Delorean image released is a previously released popcorn bucket from last year. The Back to the Future II Delorean Time Machine popcorn holder was released at Cinemex for the 35th anniversary of the movie in October of 2024. How do we know it is from Back to the Future II? It has the Mr. Fusion unit on the back of the DMC-12; this was added for the final scene in the original Back to the Future, but it is mostly known as the Back to the Future II Delorean.
The box image shows Vendor: Snapco, a popcorn bucket and novelty manufacturer. They recently are the ones who made the M3GAN 2.0, Superman, and Jurassic Park AMC Theaters Popcorn Buckets. AMC does have a special shopping page for the 40th Anniversary of Back to the Future, and AMC and theaters have gone all in on Popcorn Buckets over the past 2 years, and for good reason. In 2022, movie theaters made $0 from popcorn buckets, and in 2023, profits went up $54 million from selling popcorn buckets and tumblers.
If the Delorean Back to the Future 40th Anniversary Popcorn Bucket is real, or a simple re-release, it could end up at AMC Theaters and the AMC Shop, but the 40th Anniversary has passed on July 3, 2025. If real, it would be priced like the last few vehicles released, at $49.99.

As of this writing, we do not know if this is real or not. If anything changes to this information, we will update it accordingly.
Right now, Fantastic Four: First Steps just opened up at theaters, and at AMC Theaters, you can find the new HERBIE Popcorn Container.
