Prairie Outpost, A New Hat Store in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland Opening Date. Everyone may be talking about Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island closing in Frontierland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, but there are new things on the horizon. Piston Peak National Park, also known as Cars Land, will open in the future, and Disney has quietly announced a new store opening soon called Prairie Outpost, a new hat shop, opening June 30th, 2025.
The new hat shop will be located next door to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. No opening time was released; only ‘Coming Soon’ was indicated.

Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom has undergone a major transformation over the past 2 years. The retheming of Splash Mountain to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the retheme of Country Bears, plus the Country Bear characters who walk around the land having new outfits. The reopening of the Walt Disney World Railroad, the closing of the Walt Disney World Railroad, the closing of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad until sometime in 2026, the closing of Tom Sawyer Island, the closing of Rivers of America, and the Liberty Belle.
But hey, at least we get a Hat Store! I mean, it will stay a hat store, right?
