Toy Story Land Hollywood Studios: Shading Added to Seating Area at Woody’s Lunch Box. Guests visiting Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios have voiced their biggest complaint with the area, no shade! While the land still feels like you are a hot dog being grilled by the sun, at least in one area, more shading has finally been added. At Woody’s Lunch Box, Disney has completed the shaded structure that has been under construction for well over 3 years.
The new shaded seating area looks like a K’nex kids’ building, with landings for toys to stand. The K’nex are brightly colored red, green, yellow, and blue. Green Army Men are placed all over the top of the new building. Wooden Blocks with the ABCs are also on different levels of the new shaded area. There is a total of 6 roofs protecting guests from the sun now, with seating for guests eating at Woody’s Lunch Box. There are also taller tables for guests to stand at and eat.

The best part about the new shaded area for guests is the removal of the tables that were at the entrance to Batuu. We felt having Toy Story Seating in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, while great for guests wanting to sit down, was not great for fans of Star Wars. Galaxy’s Edge was promised to always be its own land, and having Toy Story Land trash cans and tables in the entrance felt like an invasive species. Not everyone thought this, though. So we may be in the minority of Star Wars fans who felt like this.
