
Spaceballs: The Schwartz Returns to Theaters in 2027 with Rick Moranis and Mel Brooks. Mel Brooks and Amazon MGM+ officially announced that the Spaceballs sequel will finally be made and hit theaters in 2027. Deadline reported that “Bill Pullman and Rick Moranis are set to reprise their respective roles as Lone Starr and Dark Helmet in the new Spaceballs movie from Amazon MGM Studios.” Along with Mel Brooks himself will be returning as Yogurt!
The new Spaceballs movie is being billed as “A Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film.” Spaceballs, the money maker! You can watch the announcement below:

We first heard about the possibility of a new Spaceballs last year when Josh Gad posted to his social media showing a partially seen Spaceballs script. Today, Josh Gad posted, “I was that child who saw ‘Spaceballs’ before I ever saw ‘Star Wars‘ and then wondered why anyone would do a dramatic remake of the Mel Brooks classic.
