Mickey & Friends Say Goodnight at Magic Kingdom’s Closing. The “Kiss Goodnight” happens at the Magic Kingdom about 30 minutes after the park officially closes. It’s a unique offering since there is no official schedule for it. You’ll need to be patient and keep busy while many guests approach the exit. Seeing Mickey & Minnie Mouse “Kiss Goodnight”, along with other characters waving to guests exiting Disney’s Magic Kingdom may be a more rare sight.
So, picture this: last night, 10 PM sharp, park closing. We’re strolling through Town Square, ferry-bound at the TTC, when BAM! Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Donald are right there on Tony’s Town Square Restaurant porch, waving goodbye to everyone leaving the Magic Kingdom. It was unexpected! We’d just hopped off Tron Lightcycle / Run. I’d snagged my must-have caramel apple from Main Street Confectionary. Talk about a magical bonus – the Fab Four just hanging out!
Normally, when Mickey and Pals do this it is on Main Street Train Station Platform, but the platform and stairs are behind walls and under construction. If you are looking for this at Park close, check the Train station first, then check Tony’s Town Square porch.
Mickey, Minnie, Dondald, and Pluto each had a spot to walk around and wave to guests, then they would rotate positions. Guests were able to stand in one spot for the rotation of characters and get a few moments with each one. The Disney character meet and greet, and wave goodnight, lasted around 15 minutes. The finale was Mickey and Minnie Mouse give each other that magical “Kiss Goodnight” and walk back through the doors, Pluto is next to leave waving goodnight. Finally, Donald Duck takes his bows, waves goodbye, and disappears to catch up with the rest. Video Below.

“The Magic Kingdom is a place for the young and the young at heart. A special place where when you wish upon a star, your dreams can come true.”
The official Disney Site lists the Kiss Goodnight: About 30 minutes after the park closes, Cinderella Castle starts to sparkle with a beautiful light display. “When You Wish Upon a Star” begins to play, and the castle glows with color. As the lights twinkle, a narrator’s voice thanks the guests for spending their day at Magic Kingdom and wishes them a safe journey home. The entire presentation lasts just a few minutes, but it’s a beautiful way to wrap up a day of Disney magic!
This interaction is not on the schedule and does not happen every evening at Park closing at Walt Disney World. The majority of the time this only happens during special after-hour events. We have now seen this mentioned 3 or 4 times in 2025, and are hoping this makes a comeback for the Summer of 2025 (Cool Kids Summer). Disney has said there will be more character interactions around Walt Disney World Resort.
