
“Joy To The Worlds” Doctor Who is Back on Christmas Day. We got our first look at the Christmas special back in July when at San Diego Comic Con, Nicola Coughlin gave us a look at the trailer for the episode. Nicola Coughlin, star of Bridgerton and Derry Girls, will be appearing as a one-time companion named Joy. The synopsis is, “Hopeful and optimistic, Joy is visiting London for Christmas. Traveling alone, she has a single hotel room for the week. A room with ‘one of those doors.’ “. Now we have a full trailer which can be seen below.
Today, Disney+ released the official trailer for the eagerly awaited “Doctor Who” Christmas special, “Joy to the World,” ahead of Dec. 25. The special stars Ncuti Gatwa (“Sex Education”) as the Doctor and Nicola Coughlan (“Bridgerton”) as Joy. Additional cast includes Steph de Whalley as Anita, Jonathan Aris as Melnak, Joel Fry as Trev, Peter Benedict as Basil, Julia Watson as Hilda and Niamh Marie Smith as Sylvia.
“Joy to the World” is executive produced and written by Steven Moffat (“Doctor Who,” “Sherlock”) and directed by Alex Sanjiv Pillai (“Riverdale,” “Bridgerton”). Russell T Davies is the showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers are Joel Collins, Phil Collinson, Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter.
